Obituary of Gladys Charie
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Trinity Village Care Centre, Freeport in her 98th year.
Beloved wife of the late Ronald Albert Charie. Dear mother of Carol May Coish (Bert) of Oakville and Ron (Judy) of Waterloo. Loving grandma of Kevin Coish (Jennifer), Cindy Lytle (Scott), Ron Coish, Lisa Kramer (Tim) and Heather Miller (Steve). Doting great-grandma of Brandon, Kayley, Devin, Josh, Ryan, Conner, Aiden, Addison, Peyton and Julia. Survived by her sister Violet Shonfield of Victoria, B.C.
Predeceased by her brothers Gordon, Reginald and Walter as well as her parents Walter and Harriet Bailey.
Gladys was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church and the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo Branch 530. She was also a volunteer at Grand River Hospital, the Adult Recreation Centre and the Poppy Fund for many years.
As per Gladys' request cremation will take place. A service celebrating her life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Brooke Ashfield officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
