Obituary of Bruce Voralek
VORALEK, Bruce (Borivoj) Karel
1923 - 2013
Passed away peacefully at The Westmount Long Term Care Residence in Kitchener, on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of 55 years of Charlotte. Dear father of Diane and her husband Ben Negridge and John and his wife Wendy. Proud grandfather of Mitchell and Alex Voralek. Dear uncle to Pamela Lawes, Sandra Martin, Arthur Watson, and Steven Kemley and their families.
Predeceased by parents, Ferdinand and Ema (Kierepkova); brother, Slavek and wife Erica (Karnikova); half-brother, Otto and wife Julie (Stochlova); half-sister, Herma and husband Jaroslav Svacek, and half-sister Olga and husband Emerich Lichnovsky.
Bruce received his Master of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, and was a Works Accountant with Algoods in Toronto for over a quarter century. Arriving in Canada in 1949 as a refugee from Czechoslovakia, Bruce fostered a life-long interest in photography and enjoyed documenting family life in albums and scrapbooks. He took his family on regular Sunday outings to introduce them to the interesting neighbourhoods and history of his adopted city, Toronto. His gentle ways and sense of humour will be sorely missed.
Thanks to all the caring staff of the Williamsburg wing at The Westmount.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service.
