I was so saddened to hear about the loss of Dr. Khalid. May Allah rest his soul in peace and shower him with the best of His mercy and forgiveness. Dr. Khalid was such a great person. I found all people loves and admires his personality. I never met anyone who complains about Dr. Khalid. He was always a kind and such a great person, helping whoever needs help and always giving support and honest advice to anyone. Everyone really loved him. This is a rare thing these days especially in a career like a professor position. He will live on in our memories forever. I know Dr. Khalid since I was a PhD student in ISIS-Canada network. During my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Waterloo, I was always talking with him whenever I need a honest advice or direction. He will stay in our prayers and we will miss him.

I know Khal, when he was at the American University in Dubai, Chair of the Civil Engineering Department. I visited him in his office. We started afruitfull collaboration, until he came to Empa in Switzerland to spend his sabbatical leave in my laboratory. He was a kind person and a wonderful scientist. I was in contact with him until recently. May his soul rest in peace. My heart goes out to his family during this difficult loss

I had the pleasure of knowing khaled for more than 30 years. He was one of the most decent, honest, and brightest people that I ever knew. We had the opportunity to spend some time when he was visiting Dubai. My heartfelt condolences to his wife and family. His departure will leave a void the will not be filled. RIP old friend.

Professor Soudki was our supervisor for our fourth year design project in 2005. He also taught us several structural courses. He was an incredibly gifted engineer and professor. I feel honoured to have had him as a teacher. My heart goes out to his wife and children at this difficult time. May you cherish your memories.
