Obituary of Jean Fitzgerald
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother. She passed away at home in Southampton on Sunday, September 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Robert Fitzgerald, survived by her daughters Brenda (Tom) Stockie, of Port Carling; Karen Kent, of Guelph; and Lynda (Don) Harry, of Kincardine. She is also survived by her sisters Carol (Howard) Gimbel, Elaine Yoder, Elizabeth Weber, Lucille Weber, Delphine (Merv) Gingrich and sister-in-law Mary Kay Snider.
Grandma will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Dierdre, Ryan, Emily (Evan), Rebecca (Elizabeth), Adam, and great-grandchildren Edee and Lilly and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her grandson Steven Carr and brother Howard Snider Jr., brothers-in-law Bill Yoder, Joe Weber and Howard Weber.
Jean was a member of Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo and an adherent of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Southampton.
Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, September 24, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Jean's life and faith will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe and Rev. Doug Snyder officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
A memorial service at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Southampton will be held Saturday, September 28 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Dr. Creola Simpson, with reception to follow.
Following cremation a private family committal service will take place.
