Obituary of Glenys Holmes

Passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, September 16, 2013 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of George Holmes and loving mother of Stephen Holmes and his wife Shelley. Glenys is lovingly remembered by Shelley's daughters, Phoenix Laura Hutchinson (Alasdair) and Amy Brubacher. Special mom to Cathie (Phil) Fraser. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Mabel (Holland) Packer; parents-in-law, Horace and Sophie Holmes; and brother, Roland Packer and his wife Elsie. Glenys was a longtime member of Glen Acres Baptist Church in Waterloo where she was a member of the craft group. She was an avid knitter and loved cats. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Glenys with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 19 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 20 from 10-10:45 a.m. A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Horne officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
