mommy Please help me cope with the untrue stories that have been spread...please ask God to give me peace..... I remember the nights in the hospital when you called my name. You were in pain. Sometimes you just wanted to hold my hand. And I yours with the cross in our hands. I miss your hugs and love.

Mom, I'm very sad that you're no longer of this earth. I know for some moments in life there are no words. However, what I do know is: Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy. I hope your up there with Dad driving around in his Cadillac seeing and enjoying all the beautiful things that we don't have down here. I love you and I miss you.

The first time i met Josephine was shortly after i moved in beside her. It was the early morning after new years day 2006 and had snowed heavily the night before. I thought it would be a good idea to shovel her driveway as i knew she was older and would appreciate it. Boy was i right! She was quick to thank me with a celebratory CUP of wine in her crystal glasses. Needless to say i was recovering from new years and didn't think that i could stomach any more alcohol. I reluctantly accepted her gesture as i wanted to create a good neighbourly relationship. So i gulped it down while chatting about life. She proudly told me about her family and i told her about mine. She reminded me of my own european grandmother by the was she looked, spoke and offered her sweets like grape cake to me. My grandmother passed away when i was young so to me she felt like my own.
I miss her already and wish her well in her new life.
