Obituary of Helen Wojcik
Of Waterloo, passed away at Hospice Wellington, Guelph on Sunday October 13, 2013. Helen was born on May 7, 1932 in Carrick Township. Loved wife of Stanley (Stan) who predeceased her in 1993. Beloved mother of Daniel and his wife Kelly. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Connie Baetz of Waterloo and Judy Baetz of Medicine Hat, Alberta, many nieces and nephews and her very dear friends.She was predeceased by her parents Violet and Otto Baetz, and by her brothers and sisters Bill, Betty, Margaret, Jean, Harry, Rob and Bernie. Helen and Stan operated Tim Horton's in Sudbury from 1974 - 1994 and made many long-time friendships there. Helen volunteered at the Waterloo Adult Recreation Centre, was a member of the Waterloo Legion Branch 530, Women`s Auxillary and the K-W Khaki Club. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
In her early years she was president of the Ontario Women`s Basketball Association. She loved sports and was a big fan of baseball, hockey and basketball, specifically cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Helen also enjoyed a good game of cards. Friends are invited to share their memories of Helen with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday October 18, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday October 19, from 10 - 10:45 a.m.. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Edward Sheridan officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment of cremated remains at a later date.
