Obituary of Edward Barker

Passed away peacefully, at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Blanche Black (nee Dahmer). Dearly loved father of sons, Scott (Donna), John (Joyce), and Nile (Judy) Barker, and daughter, Victoria Zabel (Rob) and families. Lovingly remembered by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also remembered by step sons, Gary Black (Beverly) and family and Randy Black. Survived by brother, Doug Barker (Bonnie) and sister, Pat Eby (Ray). Predeceased by his parents Earl and Olive Barker, his first wife, Lula Mae D'Arcy and sister Jean Collins (Ollie) and brother David Barker (Miriam). Ed was a lifelong member of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada and a member of Legion Branch 530. Ed will be remembered as a part of the semi-annual tribute service for all Parkwood residents at Parkwood Mennonite Home, 726 New Hampshire St. Waterloo on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. As an expression of condolence a donation to the Alzheimer Society or Lung Association would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
