Dear Family and Friends of Janet. The outstanding thing I remember most about Janet is her kindness and acceptance. One time years ago she went with me to to do some shopping while I was in Atlanta on Home Assignment. She took me out for lunch afterward.....one of her many gestures of kindness. The Lord's comfort to her family and friends on this anniversary of losing her. Joan Iwen

"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8
Janet will always remain our best example of Member care from the heart. We always felt welcomed, accepted, heard and cared for by her loving and sweet responses and help. We pray that God will give His tender comfort to Dave and the rest of the family.

I first met David and Janet in South Carolina at a course designed to deepen intimacy with God and promoting self-understanding. It was a privilege to sit with Janet as she brought some of her past heartaches to the Lord Jesus. She was struggling to see God's part in some of the trials and difficulties she had experienced through her life. As we waited together she experienced the simple reality of God's presence in relation to one particular event of loss. The truth dawned that God does not take people from us, but he does receive them us, if we can trust Him to take care of them for us until we meet again with Him. Her face changed from the furrowed brow of confusion to enraputured delight as she begin to integrate this new perspective.
Our friendship carried on across the years and the thousands of miles that separated us, meeting from time to time and sharing real joy together. We felt right at home together. On one occasion David and Janet hosted our family at their home in Georgia, where the kids felt right at home straight away. I always remember Janet's open, innocent smile, her soft voice and the warmth of her welcome.
No doubt there will be times of confusion for all of us as we grapple with the question of 'why' Janet suffered and is now gone. May we, like her, experience God's presence in our pain and loss, and may we enter the same peace of knowing He truly cares for us. The facts will not change, but our response can change from confusion to joy.
On behalf of my family I would like to thank David for sharing Janet with us all and bless him and the family with peace and contentment during their time of grieving. Janet is right at home where she is now, enjoying the presence of God face to face. May we have patience to let her be held in the bosom of the Father until we too are there.

Dearest Hendry family. I am weeping and dancing all at the same time. Oh how I know that Janet is rejoicing as she is now with her loving Father. Even so, I am sorry for your loss. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. She touched so many lives. Mine was one. I am so very thankful for the time that you, Dave and Janet were at the US office of OM. What a blessing you both were to me. I will never forget Janet and my time together, as I provided voice lessons to her. It was something she always wanted to do, take voice lessons. So, we got together and talked about proper breathing and training our ears to hear notes, but more importantly we sang, we sang praises to God.

Dear Dave: You and Janet played an important role in my OM ministry while serving in member care. I so appreciated your love and care for me during that time. And remember with fondness a wonderful evening at your house during an Outbound. Janet was beautiful inside and out and radiated the Lord. My prayers are with you at this time. Becky Barnhart

Janet and Dave's welcome to the OM USA member care team in 1999 was a divine appointment in our lives. Your friendship, expertise, and passion to love and serve Christ's servants on the field was the introduction and foundation for our ministry as it continues today. Janet's sweet spirit still contributes to all we do. You are much loved and greatly missed.

What a beautiful heart of a caring spirit Janet displayed for all around her to see and enjoy. After many years overseas with OM Ships, our family returned to US and were blessed to have both Dave & Janet as personal contact to our office in Georgia. The many calls from Janet especially made us feel connected and cared for. She was always checking to see what we may be in need of after returning to USA. We still remember how special she made us feel. We send our love and prayers for all her family from across the seas. May you Be Blessed and Comforted!

Our deepest love and sympathy to Dave and family. We have wonderful memories of Janet. A gal that I at one time baby-sat for became my dear friend.
She loved the Lord and now - absent from the body and present with the Lord.
So sorry that we can't be with you at this time of loss.

Janet and Dave were one of the first families to welcome us into the Community Bible Church family and continued by welcoming us into their home. Janet always had a smile, a tender touch and a listening ear to all around her. Janet is now in the loving embrace of Our Lord and readying our home for all of us when we meet her again. May God watch over Dave and family through this tough time.
