Obituary of Gisela Goetz

Gisela passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care Facility, in Kitchener on November 3, 2013 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Albert Goetz. Lovingly remembered by her children, Ingrid, Beate (Douglas) and Mike (Judy). Cherished Oma of Tanya, Jason, Albert, Johnathan, Christopher and Natalie. Ur-Oma to six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden, Jackson, Parker, Sydney and Piper. Gisela Maier was born January 20, 1931 to Jacob and Elsa Maier in Geislingen, Germany. She married Albert Goetz on March 26, 1955 in a duel ceremony with her sister Marianne on the occasion of their parent's 25th wedding anniversary. Together the young couple immigrated to Canada in July 1958 with their two young daughters to find a better life. Two years later Michael was born to complete the family. Gisela was a devoted wife and loving mother. After raising her family, she enjoyed being Oma to her grandchildren and always delighted being with them. Gisela was proud to be 3rd generation New Apostolic and lived her faith. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 160 Margaret Avenue, Kitchener, where Gisela and Albert were faithful members for many years. Shepherd Cory Lindner will be presiding. Reception to follow in the church hall.
