Obituary of Werner Spirgatis

Passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Grand River Hospital, at age 76. Beloved husband of Maria for 50 years; loved father of Tanja Smithson (Mark) and special Opa of his buddy "Butz", Jacob. Dear brother of Elfriede Falk, Helga Boerke, Joachim Spirgatis (Dara) and Hildegard Klinger (Benno). Werner will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Siegfried and by brothers-in-law Kurt Boerke and Walter Falk. Werner was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Tend-R-Fresh for 31 years and Colonial Cookies for 12 years. He has been enjoying retirement for the past 11 years. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St. Waterloo with Rev. Fred Ludolf officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery will be followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
