Obituary of Rose Haines

A former resident of Preston and a long-time resident of The Village of Winston Park, Kitchener, Rose passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Monday, November 11, 2013, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor Ernest Haines in 1997. Rose is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Victor Haines and wife Penne, John Haines and wife Cheryl, Richard Haines and wife Soraya as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As the last remaining member of her generation of the Bennett family, Rose was predeceased by her mother, Emily (nee Walsh); father, George W. Bennett; brothers, George, Ted, Arthur; and sister, Alice Griggs. Rose was trained in England as a dress maker. As an apprentice, Rose had the honour of working for a company which sewed for royalty. In her later years, she worked for the Kaybee dress shop in Preston, ON where she custom fitted clothing for an exclusive clientele. Cremation has taken place. Rose's family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 1-1:45 p.m. The memorial service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., Wednesday. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room.
