Obituary of Robert Williams

Blessed by having shared life with Robert, family said goodbye on November 11, 2013. Born October 19, 1931 in Kirkland Lake, ON to parents John & Hannah (predeceased). Brother of Edith (Rox) and Gladys (Wright) both predeceased and Fred of Scarborough. Married in 1954 in Blyth, ON to Jean (nee Cartwright) their lives were enriched by a dedicated and loving commitment to each other. Proud father to Ann Marie and late husband Robert Gorrie of Waterloo, Mary Lynn and husband Robert Mitchell of Grimsby and Ruth Arlene of Kitchener. Beloved grandfather to Candice and husband Ivan Tomasic of Waterdown, Andrew Mitchell of Burlington, Michael Panigas and wife Jennifer Kim Panigas of Toronto, Bianca Panigas and Alexander Panigas both of Vaughan. Step Grandfather Katie Mitchell-Mintz of Bowmanville and her children Maybelle & Evvelyn. Previously, served as Sergeant in the Algonquin Regiment, a reserve unit. Long Service employee of Public Works Canada responsible for technical services in Ontario. Especially proud of the engineering start up at Canadian Centre for Inland Waters and Gateway Postal Services. Past Noble Grand and long service member of I.O.O.F Unity Lodge $47 Hamilton, ON having served in many capacities and participated in many degrees in Ontario and the United States. Robert lived the principles of friendship, love and truth. Blessed by the communities of Kirkland Lake, Virginatown, Stoney Creek, Mississauga and Toronto. Forever grateful for the caring and compassionate community of Kitchener-Waterloo. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 from 11:30 to 12:30 at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street S, Waterloo .A Celebration of life service will follow at 12:30 in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Alan Cook officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
