Obituary of Muriel Jenkins
1930 - 2013
Formerly of Hespeler, Ontario, passed away peacefully at The Village of Winston Park Nursing Home, Kitchener, on Sunday November 24, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Beloved and loving wife of the late Paul Ward Jenkins. Sister of Lynton "Red" Wilson and his wife, Brenda, of Oakville. Aunt of Margot, Jennifer and Edward Wilson and John, Peter and Diana MacGibbon. Dear friend of Lois and the late John Brown of Toronto and their children, Susan and Rosemary and her husband Damien McIsaac. Special thank-you to Marianne and Tom Sloane of Hespeler for their friendship and care. Predeceased by parents Ronald Alfred Wilson and Blanche Evelyn (nee Matthews) of Port Colborne and by beloved sisters Loreen McMillan and Dorothy MacGibbon. Muriel was a graduate of McMaster University and enjoyed a long career as a Manager for Bell Canada. During retirement she earned the Ontario Volunteer Service Award for her activities with the Cambridge Library. She and husband, Paul, shared a love of nature which was evident in their surroundings and pursuits. They were devoted cat owners and dedicated supporters of the Humane Society and other wildlife charities. Among their varied interests they especially enjoyed sailing and travelling to the West Indies. Muriel will be remembered fondly for her spirited conversation and for the many occasions she filled with fun and laughter. Thank-you to Rebertha and the other caregivers as well as the staff of Winston Park for the kind care during the past few years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Muriel with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday November 29, 2013 from 1 - 2 p.m. The memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Lewis of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Kitchener, officiating. Reception following the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
