Obituary of Wilfred Lingelbach

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Wilfred had recently entered into his 97th year after being born on a farm near Gadshill. He was predeceased by his wife Ada (nee Wilhelm). Loving father of Allan and his wife Carol and Donald and his wife Lydia, all residing in the Wellesley area. Sadly missed by his grandsons Scott and Brian. Will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Allan Wilhelm and sister-in-law Verna Lingelbach. Predeceased by his parents John and Amelia (nee Stralo) Lingelbach; brothers and sisters-in-law Edwin, Louis and Alice, Alvin and Verda, and Hattie Wilhelm. In 1951 Wilf and Carl Metz founded the business KW St. Clair Appliances, which served the Kitchener area for 61 years. Wilfred was a long time faithful member of Calvary United Church, Kitchener where he served on the Stewardship Committee and was Treasurer of the Victory Sunday School class for many years. He was also an active member of the former Laurel Creek Kiwanis organization and the Waterloo Masonic Lodge. Friends are invited to share their memories of Wilf with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Bruce Seebach to officiate. Please join the family immediately following the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments. Family and friends are also welcome to attend the interment at Lisbon United Cemetery following the reception. Heartfelt thanks also goes out to the staff of Revera Home Health, Nithview Retirement Home and the Grand River Hospital renal facility. Not to be overlooked is the many years assistance by members of Calvary United Church, neighbours from Katherine Cres., relatives, and many friends.
