Obituary of Frieda Klassen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Frieda Klassen who was reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 62 years, Frank P. Klassen.
Frieda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 8, 2013, exactly one month after Frank, at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener. She was 82 years old.
Loving mother to Irma (Harry) Sawatzky, Linda (Richard) Wagner, Betty (Bill) Neufeld, Maggie (Jeff) Wilson, and Suzanne (Doug) Braam.
Grandmother to Rachel (Angie Dillon) Sawatzky, Matthew (Kristy) Sawatzky, James (Shanan) Sawatzky, Robert (Cassandra) Wagner, Melissa (Chris) Muratis, Joshua Wagner, Allison and Laura Neufeld, Zachary and Victoria Wilson, and Noah, Elijah, Carina, and Silas Braam.
Great grandmother to Kaitlynn Sawatzky, Alexandra, Natasha and Tyler Sawatzky, Chase and Avery Sawatzky, and Emma Muratis.
Predeceased by her parents, Johann and Rosina (Welker) Helfinger, her brother Joseph (Lilly) Helfinger, and her sister Alma Helfinger. Survived by her brother Rudy Helfinger and her sister Christine (Paul) Loci.
Frieda took great pleasure in taking care of her family. She was a skilled homemaker, a talented artist, and a wonderful mom who made the best apple pies in the world. She was our sunshine.
We would like to express our thanks to the Sunnyside Riverside staff and volunteers who took such great care of our family.
The Klassen family will receive friends during visitation at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, December 11, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at W-K United Mennonite Church, 15 George St., Waterloo, on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Mann officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service with interment after the reception at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
