Obituary of Herbert Habel

Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in his 89th year. Survived by his son Peter Habel, grandchildren Scott and Carter Habel, Danielle Parker and Jeff and Tricia Fitzgerald. Herb was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty, his daughter Cathy Fitzgerald and one brother and seven sisters. Herb was a member of the K-W Naval Association, member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530, Honourary Associate of the Highland Light Infantry (Cambridge), member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus, former member of the Waterloo Region Police Male Chorus, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Choir and regular at Waterloo Seniors Centre. Friends are invited to share their memories of Herb with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 6 - 8 pm. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo on Thursday, January 16 at 10:30 am with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Cremation will take place.
