Obituary of Thomas Lang

With his devoted wife by his side at home on his farm, Thomas passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Cornelia for 39 years; loving father of Jeannine Egger (Roland), Thomas Lang (Lauren), Marc Lang (Heather), Cornelia Weber(Dustin), and Patricia Lang. Adored "Grampy" of Ryan and Madison Egger, Delayna and Carson Weber, Thomas and Josephine Lang and Katelyn Lang. He is survived by his aunt, Therese Baumberger; his godparents, Maria Rey and Josef Lang (Ruth); his brothers-in-law, Arnold (Barbara) and Paul (Luzia); sisters-in-law, Ida (Niklaus), Lucia (Peter), Cili (Sepp) , Bernadette (Walti), Claudia (Christoph) and their families; as well as his cousins, godchildren and extended family all of Switzerland and Austria. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas (2004) and Josefa Lang-Lukas (2006) and by his father-in-law, Paul (1989) and mother-in-law, Ida (1975). Thomas was born on October 3, 1950 and spent the early years of his life growing up in Bazenheid, Switzerland. In 1969 he came to Canada for a year and a half to gain experience working on a farm in Milton. It was this experience that in 1988 led him to make the brave decision to move his entire family from Switzerland to Canada where he owned and operated TC Lang Farms. He worked hard and was successful. He always made time to entertain his family, friends and neighbours, whether it be at home on the farm or at "the pond". His love of gardening, traveling, and cooking drew people to him. Deep friendships were formed and this loss will be greatly felt by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers to be offered at 9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Agatha RC Church, on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Daniel Lobsinger C.R. as celebrant.
