I got to know Eleanor and Jack in Tucson in the 70s. I still have a cookbook she gave me. What a wonderful couple. I feel privileged to have known them. My condolences to the family.

Lloyd and I, as well as our children, were very shocked and saddened to be told yesterday that our dear Aunt Eleanor had passed away. She was a wonderful and kind lady with the greatest sense of humour. In the early 1950s we lived in my grandmother Hennessy's home altogether. What a joy-filled and unforgettable time that was! She was indeed one of a kind. Our condolences go out to John, his children and grandchildren. Sincerely, Liz and Lloyd Duffy, September 19,2014

I had the privilege of working for Eleanor for many years in Phoenix, Arizona. She was a delight, and so wonderful with people. An angry AAA member would become putty in her hands! Years later I moved to the Los Angeles area, and when she came to visit Jill in LA I was able to meet and have lunch with Eleanor. She was a delight, so wise and witty, and most importantly, kind. I learned a lot from her and will cherish her always. My condolences to all of her family. She loved you all so very much and was so proud of you!

I liked when I went over to Eleanor's living residence and got to talk to her. She was very funny, nice and had a cool little drawer with little souvenirs from different places in it. She would tell us about the things and sometimes gave us something from the box when we left. I'm glad I got to know Eleanor and I'll remember her forever.

I'll miss Eleanor. I remember visiting her in Terrace on the Square. She was always happy to see us and we enjoyed talking with her. I remember we always used to get ice cream with her in the café and she always ate peanut butter.
