Carol Gimbel (nee Snider)
December 25, 1920 - April 18, 2014
Carol died April 18, 2014 at Grand River Hospital in her 94th year following a recent stroke.
Beloved wife of Howard Gimbel for 68 years. Loving mother of Susan Gimbel (Murray Feldman) of India and Vancouver, Phyllis Roth (Barry) of Conestogo. Dear Grandmother of Azar Niekamp and Nicholas Roth.
Carol is survived by her sisters Elaine Yoder of Columbiana, Ohio, Elizabeth Weber, Lucille Weber, Delphine (Mervin) Gingerich of Waterloo, brother-in-law Robert Fitzgerald of Southampton and sister-in-law Mary Kay Snider of Florida. Also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ken and Isabel Gimbel of Tavistock, Nina Gimbel of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Howard and Linda Snider, sister Jean Fitzgerald, brother Howard B. Snider, inlaws William Yoder, Joseph Weber, Howard Weber, Oren Gimbel, Verda Gimbel, Helen and Urias Martin, Ruth and Rex Weber.
Carol was a lifetime member of Erb Street Mennonite Church and in years past an active participant in Women of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (WMCEC)
Friends are invited to share their memories of Carol with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb Street West, Waterloo on Wednesday, April 23 at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the church. There will be a private family interment at Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery prior to the service.
