Obituary of Dorothy Nieman

Dorothy passed away peacefully at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 86. Loving mom to Gloria Cormier and husband Oscar of Waterloo, Debbie Graham of Barrie, Mark Nieman and wife Wendy of Gadshill, Cathy Ritsema and husband Murray of Teeswater, and Becky Holleran and husband Mike of Ayr. Devoted grandmother to David Cormier, Peter Cormier and Kristy Striegel, Kimberley and Carl Webb, Jessica and Mark Vinski, Yolanda and Peter Teeninga, Chad and Danielle Ritsema, Joelle Ritsema, Kayla, Sarah, and Emily Holleran and great-grandmother to Jordan Cormier, Ella Cormier, Landon and Kenzie Teeninga. Dear sister to Norma James and Dolores Prussak of Golden Lake and sister-in-law to Earl Saar, Naomi Nieman, and George Nieman and wife Anita, all of Pembroke. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Allen Nieman on October 29, 1984; parents, Allan and Gertrude (nee Graeber) Passaw; great-granddaughter, Abigail Cormier; sister, Shirley Saar; brothers-in-law, William James, Frank Prussak, Herman (Edna) Nieman, Edward (Dorothy) Nieman, Garfield Nieman, Percy (Lurinda) Nieman; and sister-in-law, Ernstena (Albert) Gorr. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Dorothy with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, August 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Ave., Kitchener on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robin Korsch officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
