Ken May of Maryhill passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Twin Oaks of Maryhill, at age 85. Loved father of Tom May (Reta), Janet Niederer (Bruce) and Betty Hammer (Dave). Loving grandfather to Rebecca Miller (Mike), Derek Hammer (Pam), Alex Hammer, Shelly Steffler and Mark Steffler.Dear brother of Kay Steffler (Urban), Helen May (Laura) and Marg Rebellati (Frank). Predeceased by his beloved wife Amelia (2002), daughter Brenda Steffler (2004) and a sister in infancy. Ken was a long-time member of St. Boniface Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus, the St. Boniface Holy Name Society and the Bridgeport Rod & Gun Club. He worked at JM Schneider's in Kitchener as a machinist before retiring in 1993. Ken was a former member of the Waterloo Township Fire Department - Maryhill Station. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ken with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 2:30 to 4:30 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 4:15 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Church Maryhill, Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ronald Voisin as Celebrant. Reception to follow at the Maryhill Community Centre. A special thanks to all those involved with the care of our father over the past two years, including the Staff of Twin Oaks, Doon Retirement Village, Grand River Hospital (Freeport).
