Mary Moser

Obituary of Mary Moser

Passed away peacefully after a long illness at Freeport Hospital on Wednesday March 25 at the age of 79 years. Cherished wife of 59 years to her husband Melvin. Loving mother of Steve (Patricia), Ken (Colleen), Ann (Patricia), Robert (Paul), Scott (Amy) and Brenda (Kevin). Oma will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Ken Jr., Andrea, Richard, Shawn, Jessica, Brandon, Dylan, great-grandson Nathaniel and William. Step-grandchildren, Mark, Misty and Kyle, step-great grandchildren, Chay, Emily and Violet. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Helen Rowe and Rose Armstrong (Greg) and brother Ed. Mary is pre-deceased by her son Frank, parents Thomas and Anna Wyszynski, brothers Frank, John, Walter (Virginia), Joseph (Gloria), sister Lee (Ed) Schaffer, brother-in-law Fred Rowe and sister-in-law Olga Wyszynski (Ed). She was a much loved aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she so fondly remembered all of them. Mary was a long-time member of St. Agatha RC Church where she served as a lecturer and member of the Catholic Woman's league. Mary grew up on a farm where the apple trees still flourish near the property of the University of Waterloo. An avid sports fan, from curling to hockey, she was as ace pitcher with the Kitchener Kieswetters baseball team. Despite the power to hit homerun balls, her short legs often got her thrown out at home during many a sports game on the farm. We find great comfort in knowing she is now at rest and will be able to enjoy the many sports she loved. Family, Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations together were very special to mom and always filled with laughter, endless good-natured teasing and welcoming to anyone who came to visit. Mary was blessed to be under the care of such wonderful, patient and loving care-givers since suffering her aneurysm almost 7 years ago. Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude to the compassionate and professional care she's received from the staff at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, Terrace UT3 East and North, especially the love and support to make her last days so peaceful. Friends are invited to share their memories of Mary with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Sunday March 29, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Parish Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Sunday evening 8:45 pm. Morning Prayers will be said on Monday March 30, 2015 at 10 am at the funeral home followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Agatha R.C. Church, 1839 Notre Dame Dr., St. Agatha, with the Rev. Dan Lobsinger, C.R. as Celebrant. Spring Interment St. Agatha RC Cemetery.
