Obituary of Shirley Schmidt

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, at age 86. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Schmidt and Edward McFatridge. Loving mother of Sharole Gabriel, Jahn Light (Weston Meyer), and David Schmidt. Loving Gramma of David, Mitchell, and Timothy Schmidt and Ciaara Stubon (Josh) and great-gramma of Liam and Ayla. Dear sister of Jacqueline Shanfield (Henry-dec.), Richard Gies (Ruth-dec.), Mary Wienstein (Don), Jim Gies (Colleen), George Gies (Pastora), Brian Gies (Janet), and Christine Keller (Randy) and sister-in-law of Nancy Gies. Predeceased by an infant son Lawrence, son Duey and brothers, Norman (Buddy) and Raymond. Friends are invited to share their memories of Shirley with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 21st at 10 a.m. with Pastor Marshall Eizenga officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home, then interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Mannheim.
