Obituary of Donald McIntosh

Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday September 10, 2015 at the age of 78. Loving husband and best friend of Belva. After 32 years of friendship, laughter and tears, they were wed in early 2015 to the amazement of friends and family. Survived by daughter Kathy, son Dale, Inta Maciel (Jim) and Michelle Adams (Denis). Grandchildren Jeff, Laura, Logan and Nathan. Brother Gary Mitton (Sandy) and sister Doris Demsys. He also had a special relationship with Diane. He was born in Timmins Ont., and lived in Timmins and Elliot Lake before moving to Kitchener/Waterloo in 1964. Don was a street sweeper and snow plow operator with the City of Waterloo for 26 years. He was also an avid sports enthusiast from his days at Moneta Public School Hockey Team right through to the Chipper's slow pitch tournaments. He especially enjoyed his 4 years travelling back and forth to Ohio State University to see Laura play on the Women's Hockey team. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He loved and got a great deal of enjoyment from his grandchildren and was Poppa to them. Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with the family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday September 13th, at 1p.m., with reception to follow.
