Obituary of Paul Horst

After a courageous battle with cancer, Paul, of Eby Village, Kitchener, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at age 67. He was the beloved brother of Lauretta Martin of Elmira, Howard and Alice Horst of Hawksville, Daniel and Salema Horst of Gowanstown, Robert and Alma Horst of Thamesville, Ronald and Sharon Horst of Palmerston. He was a special uncle to his many nieces and nephews and always took an interest in their lives. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Maryann Horst, brother-in-law Clayton Martin and his nephew Dennis Horst. As a youth he gave his heart to the Lord. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. A special thank you to his Eby Village family, Dr. Stevens, the staff in I.C.U., and the sixth floor oncology at Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care during his illness. Friends are invited to share their memories of Paul with his family during visitation at First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the church on Wednesday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Condolences for the family and in lieu of flowers, donations to Eby Village may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
