Obituary of Lloyd Nyland

Lloyd passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Lanark Heights, age 101 years. Born in Sault Ste. Marie August 15, 1914. Husband of the late Frieda Nyland (nee Tschoeltsch). Dear father of Susan and her husband Ron Shane, Heather and her husband Marty Sokoloskie and father-in-law of Frank Proctor. Best grandpa to Peggy and her husband Tom Hutchinson, Patti Shane and her husband Roy Bernard, Kelly and his wife Sherry Proctor, Toby and his wife Kaite Proctor, Daniel Sokoloskie, Samantha Sokoloskie and her fiancé Nathan McCutcheon. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Predeceased by a daughter Diane Nyland Proctor (October 2014). Lloyd was a faithful member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a 75 year member of Scouts Canada. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Lloyd during memorial visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 7-9 pm and on Friday, October 30 from 1:30-3 pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo. The Memorial Service to celebrate Lloyd's life will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 3 pm with Rev. Annette Smith officiating. Cremation has taken place with interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A very sincere thank you to the caring staff at Lanark Place for the excellent care given to our dad.
