Your Mother's passing is the end of an era. Your parents were the epitome of a family doctor and his wife. Gracious and caring beyond imagining.
I have wonderful memories of spending lunches in grades 7&8 in the basement with Margie and Kathleen Acheson. It was a welcome place to go "home" to for a break from school.
The cottage at Sundridge holds dear memories as well, and the sticky buns were a standard I have yet to ,at home anywhere.
I send my condolences to all the family, Mary Lou, Linda , Cam and Margie and hope to see some of you in the future

Curly was a remarkable, special lady--the last of that great generation that taught us a strong sense of morals and left us such wonderful memories.
My lasting memory will be tea with Curly,Mary Lou and Maggie in her beautiful "bed-sitting room" about two weeks before Norm died. Curly spoke so kindly about him and it helped me to know that somehow I could face what was ahead.---Curly and Dr. Phil, Aunt Marg and Dr. Norm, Dibby and Charlie and Bill and Marg...all gone now but,..."We never lose the ones we love--their love leaves an indelible imprint on our hearts." Be at Peace Curly--Love to your family, Nancy and Family

The famous chocolate birthday cake - with 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, this appeared many times over our lives. A favourite, which also came in Lemon or Strawberry, but Chocolate was the most requested! This recipe has passed on to the next generation.....

Curly was such a kind and gracious lady. I so enjoyed our private chats each year at the family reunion - knowing the importance of Family and time spent together. Reminiscing, sharing stories and just connecting with those she loved.
I remember speaking of Curly, not long after her dear friend Bill Curry passed away and her voicing to me, that it was "not much fun to be the last one." Dear Curly spent many years as "the last one" and I so hope she realized how much she was loved and admired by all those who had the joy to have met her. A wonderful loving woman will be missed by all who met her, but she has been reunited with all that have gone before.
With sincerest sympathy to all her family, Sue, Blair and Family

"Curly" was a second mom to me , after my mother died at age 39 from congestive heart failure . I was 6 when the Voelker family welcomed me into their home as a support place when my father was recovering from his loss and trying to find a housekeeper etc. I adopted Mary Lou as my big sister since I had no siblings .I lived on Albert Street in a house built in 1841 and they lived kitty corner to me, in a house built even earlier , called the Christmas tree house.
Viva influenced my taste in decorating , clothes and entertaining , while Dr. Phil gave me my interest in Science .
I shall never forget their kindness towards me .I have learned to pass this on to others who need my help . As the saying goes...."what goes around , comes around !"
My love to all the family , xo Jane Snider Epp

Grandma. I will always remember you and the happiness you brought the family. A loving grandma, great grandma and loving mother to my mom. Never to be forgotten. The story of the ride in the Jeep with you and me signing "raindrops keep falling on my head" will be with me forever.
