Mom’s passion for gardening was legendary and she could often be found tending the plants, carefully placing the seed, watering and tending the shoots as they poked through the ground. She was an amazingly kind, caring and warm person to all who knew her, always giving of herself, generous in her time and spirit. We could always count on some goodies appearing when she would visit … pies … cookies … tarts and who can forget those amazing homemade French fries. She could often be found enjoying puzzles, cheering for her Blue Jays, urging her favourite curling team to victory and following the Kitchener Rangers. Mom was known to bet a dollar or two at the horse races, would take in a live theatre show and on a very rare occasion might visit a casino.
The family would like to thank all the first responders, Paul, Police, Fire Rescue and Paramedics, and Dr. Wm. John Ewen. A special thank you to Constable Mac Campbell from the Waterloo North Division; your professionalism and compassion while you remained with us for those many hours made a most difficult time bearable.
