Our deepest sympathies to all of Katie's family. We only met Katie a few years a go but we knew right away that she was a very special young woman. She was sweet, happy, thoughtful, and smart. She enjoyed learning, worked very hard and was excited by life and loved her family. For someone so young, she made a very big impact on all who knew her.

Ryan, Hunter and all of Katie's family, We are thinking about you and yes, we are crying as well. Although we met Katie only a couple of times we know the positive impact Hunter has had on our grand daughter Leighton Moore - a tribute to wonderful parents. On an overcast day Katie bounced into Sarah and Bryan's home in North Bay (when we were there)with a sunny bright attitude. Sarah and Katie had been out for lunch. We know Katie was a very special lady-she lived a lot during her lifetime. Ryan, Hunter and family - we pray you will be wrapped in a blanket of happy memories - memories to cherish and treasure. Thinking about you and sending warm hugs and love. Bob and Laurie Wright (Sarah Moore's parents)

My deepest condolences to Katie's family. Thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. I knew Katie from years ago when she worked at Wendy's. She was always a pleasure to work with, always willing to lend a helping hand anyway she could. After she left Wendy's, whenever she came through the drive-thru, we would always briefly catch up. She always had a smile that would light up the room.

Dear Hunter: Your Mom was an outstanding teacher. My son Eddie began his high school career with her, in Gr. 9 Applied French at Simcoe Composite School every morning. He looked forward to the class, despite his learning challenges, and that opinion was shared by his classmates. You were there too, listening from a very safe place. Your Mom taught people, not subjects, and I know that her compassion will be the legacy your father will tell you about again and again. Good teachers live on in the memories their students have of them and share. We wish you, Hunter, your Dad,Ryan, and the rest of your family the strength to move forward. The Shantz Family.

I'd like to tell you how Mrs. Goodyear touched my life. I had her for grade 10 math and as a student that struggled in my academics she really helped me succeed. Whether it was with her kind words and positive attitude or helping me find the percentage of tax on the Canadian dollar she was always there for you. She will be greatly missed and is still to this day the best math teacher I've ever had. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I would like to express my condolences to Sarah, Ryan, and Hunter. Although I did not know Katie well, she struck me as an extremely intelligent and down to earth woman and she showed great strength when facing her illness. I regret that I will not get a chance to know her better. I wish all of her family and friends love and courage during this difficult time. Sarah (RMT at the MediSpa)

Our deepest sympathy to Ryan , Hunter and the rest of the family... Katie was very dear to our hearts because of her warm smile and sense of humour but most of all her determination and inner strength.. She fought a tremendous battle while never complaining , always keeping her head high.. We will miss her a lot and hope we can continue to offer Ryan and Hunter our friendship and help in any way we can to support them on their journey together.. When I look in your yard this year and see the forget-me-nots blooming I will think of Katie and how many times we talked about how many more perennials I could move to her garden. I will miss her dearly,

I only had the pleasure of meeting Katie once. It was this past summer at my Mom's house...they were neighbours. We only chatted briefly while my son and daughter jumped on Hunter's trampoline, trying to coax him into joining them. Katie was between treatments at that time, and despite how exhausted I'm sure she was, she was so friendly and outgoing. Every time I think about Katie I am in awe of her strength and grace. Her love for Hunter shone out of her like sunlight. I know my Mom will miss her terribly. Please accept my families deepest condolences. To Ryan, Hunter, and all of her family; we send light and love your way.
