As a colleague of Monika's I'm saddened by her passing. We both arrived at Forest Heights CI the same year and our friendship was enriched by Monika's lovely personality. My son was a student and remembered her as a wonderful teacher. She will be missed.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Monika's passing. I had been trying for years to find her after the passing of her husband but unfortunately was never successful. Luckily, I was able at least to visit with her in her Ayr home.
We were friends throughout our teen years, living only blocks away. Sometimes we double-dated.
Once summer I painted her small bedroom in the family apartment above a store on Queen Street. In gratitude, she gave me a small briefcase embossed with my initials, a gift I still treasure and that reminds me of her.
The photos I have of her visits to my student residence at London's Western University bring back such fond memories.

To Monika's family, condolence's on your great loss. She was an absolutely warm and charming lady whose smile brightened her classroom, the halls and downstairs workroom at Eastwood Collegiate. The world is a better place because of you Monika. You have been taken far too early and by unfair means! Auf Wiedersehen!
