Obituary of Yolande Brotherton
Peacefully after a lengthy struggle with emphysema and COPD, on November 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 75.
Daughter of Valéda nee Regimbald and Albert Potvin. Born in Cumberland, Ontario on May 21, 1935. Beloved wife of the late John Brotherton who predeceased her in 1967. Loving mother of Jan and husband Chuck Becker, Shirley and husband Gary Freiburger, Sandra and husband Peter Rudat, Mark Brotherton and wife Mary Lou, Joanne and husband Bruce Veld.
She will be missed by her grandchildren Sean, Jay, Alecia, Ryan, Eric, Jessica, Jon, Rachel, and Avery. Predeceased by Colin. Great-grandchildren Connor, Kian, Noah, and Grace. Dear sister of Berthe, Jeannine, Albert and Nicole. Predeceased siblings Roland, Ovila, Romuald, Lucien, Thérése and twin Rollande.
Mom was a good mother and homemaker, widowed at 32 with 5 children to raise, and she knew how to stretch a penny.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Yolande with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday November 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Peter Pelletier and Pastor Don Sutherland officiating. Reception and interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
