Obituary of Robert Sleno

Passed away peacefully at his home in Waterloo with family in the early hours of December 28, 2010 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Arlene (nee Mackay) for 47 years. Devoted father of son, James (Jim) and his wife, Anita Wieringa of Burlington and daughter, Catherine (Cathy) and husband, Darryl Buchanan of London. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Laura and Jamie. Also survived by his mother, Joyce Sleno; his sister, Pamela Gowers and her husband, Dan; nephew, Andrew and niece, Samantha; and by his mother-in-law, Edna Mackay. Predeceased by his father, Douglas Sleno. The family wishes to extend special thanks to friends and family for all of their support and compassion, to Comcare Services, PACE Nursing Care, and the staff at Parkway Ford, especially Al Dahmer and Dan DeBoer. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 180 St. James St., London on Monday, January 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Church of St. John the Evangelist on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Canon Don Ford officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall. Cremation and Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, London.
