Obituary of Walter Melnychuk

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the age of 87. Walter is survived by his two sons: Walter and his wife Lynn of New Hamburg and Jeff and his wife Maryanne of Waterloo, grandchildren Monika (Jonah), Andrea (David), Melissa (Shaun) Shadd, Krystal and Matthew Melnychuk and two great-grandchildren Madelyn and Zion. Walter was predeceased by his loving wife Angela in 2001 and siblings, Olga Barron, Rose Seibert, Frank, Steve and Nick Melnychuk. Walter was born in Waterloo and he retired from B.F. Goodrich at age 62. He had a great love for all animals and nature. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530, Waterloo and the K-W Naval Association. Friends are invited to share their memories of Walter with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:15 am. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 10:30 am. Cremation has taken place and a reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
