Obituary of Fiona Hudgins

Unexpectedly on March 10 at age 37. Fiona touched the lives of many people and made friends wherever she went. Possessing the gift of empathy for those in distress, she herself struggled with mental health issues. The last two years of her life were marked by improved stability, independence, and happiness. Her love and concern for her family and friends was a constant. Fiona loved singing, music, good food, family, Shakespeare, wordplay, discussing ideas, and friendships. She especially adored her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Carol, her mother, Fiona is sadly missed by her father, Robert (Virginia McQuay), sister, Elizabeth (Graeme Oxendale) and their children, Spencer and April; brother, David (Julie McGeer) and their children, Sophie and Evan; aunts and uncles, Mavis Kerr (Larry Kryski), Tom and Sharon Kerr, and Bill Hudgins; step-siblings, Adrienne and Jesse McQuay; and many cousins and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Fiona during a visitation with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Ontario, on Tuesday, March 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. A funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will be at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb Street East, Waterloo, Ontario on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will take place in Dresden, Ontario later in the week.
