I knew Angela as the World Famous Girl at KW Surplus. Pat had begun working there the year we were married so I met many faces over the years, some getting married, some having children and some moving away to begin new lives for themselves. I remember Angela as being the "girl who blushed easily" when our Warehouse boys would tell a joke but one of the cutest memories I have of her was to do with food! Whenever I would bring in food for the staff, I would have a visitor in my office (Angela). Her big brown eyes would peer around the corner and much like a child stumbling on something big, would ask me if she smelled whatever it was I brought in knowing of course full well I did bring something in. Her nose knew! :) She was always appreciative and her smile priceless. It always amazed me even though she was so tiny, that she had such an amazingly big appetite! I'm grateful for having known Angela and she will be sadly missed by her extended family at KW Surplus.

I worked with Angela for over 10 years at K-W Surplus. There were only 6 employees way back in 1994, and we behaved like a family. Teaching each other time-saving tips, and enjoying each others laughs. Angela had discovered an inventive way to magically put a nylon tie into a hole in the pegboard and have it come back out a couple holes away, while staying on one side of the pegboard. She taught me how to do it, and it was indeed a valuable trick, as most of the shelving is held together with nylon ties. I demonstrated this trick to another employee as recently as last month, and couldn't help but think of Angela. So it came to my surprise one day when someone so talented with nylon ties managed to get one wrapped around her finger so tightly. I was in the 'sound room' at the time, helping a customer, when she walked in. Her fingertip was turning blue, and with one glance at her face, I knew what she wanted me to do. I reached into my apron to get my most trusted tool, spring-loaded wire strippers/cutters. Easily cutting the nylon tie without a nick to her finger, I freed the nylon tie from it's ever-tightening grip. After the customer left, she expressed her gratitude, and said everyone else that tried to get it off kept making it tighter.. I enjoyed working with her, and am happy that we could teach each other so many things, and help each other so many times..
