Obituary of Aleda Stanbury
Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on Wednesday July 6, 2011, after an unfortunate car accident, which took place on June 28th.
Loving wife of Fred Stanbury for 48 years. Dear mother of Paul and his wife Elizabeth; beloved grandmother of Sara and Sherry. Cherished sister of Mabel Martin, Olive Brubacher, twin sister Rita Bearinger, Violet Pitts, Howard Bearinger and Willard Bearinger. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Ephraim and Annie Bearinger, brother Melvin Bearinger and sisters Irene Mount and Beulah Weber.
Aleda was a member of Bridgeport United Church for the past 47 years. She was an active member of the Ladies Quilting Guild and participated in making quilts to be donated to the Mennonite Central Committee Relief Sale. Aleda was one of the first members of the Waterloo County Quilting Guild. She enjoyed several bus trips across Canada and the United States, golfing, and bowling over the years right up to the age of 65. Many wonderful memories were also shared with her family during camping road trips to Alberta and Newfoundland with her son's family right into her 80's.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Aleda with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday July 10, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday July 11, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
Reception to be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home following the interment.
