Obituary of Fr. Michael Atkins

Died peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at age 60. Beloved husband of the late Kristin (Filce); loved father of David and loving grandfather of Meghan. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law Lois Filce, her family, and by his congregation at St. Luke's (Broughdale), London. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Gertrude Atkins. Fr. Michael's ministry has included serving as the Rector of the Parish of the Holy Sprit and currently Rector of St. Luke's (Broughdale), London. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen St. E., Waterloo on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Robert F. Bennett, Bishop of Huron as Celebrant. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Interment in Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
