Eileen Moore

Obituary of Eileen Moore

On October 4th, 2011 Eileen Moore died peacefully in her 89th year. Born in Calgary, Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Dr. John and Ellen Kelly, brother Bernard (Lorna), sister Margaret (Jack) and is survived by her brother Jack (Judy) of Nanaimo, B. C. Eileen was also predeceased by her loving husband Richard (Dick) in 1998. Eileen and Dick had a full, rich life as they resided in Burlington where they raised their six children who mourn her death: Tom (Susan), John (Chiwa) Jane Cowan(Gary), Martin, Bob and Mary Burden (John). She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren: David (Kristin), Michael, Matthew, Brendan, Rosie (Rory), Nick and Kate. Eileen lit up any room she entered with her spirit of fun and her keen interest in people. She was an ace bridge player, enjoyed a competitive game of poker, but most of all, found great joy in sharing her loving hospitality with family and friends. Her children will remember her fondly as a mother with both an iron fist and a forgiving heart. Eileen's life was a true testament to her strong and enduring faith. After making her home in Waterloo in 2004, Eileen managed to develop many more social connections, despite being restricted by C.O.P. D. The family would like to thank her caregivers over the years including Dr. John Sehl and the wonderful staff of the Sunshine Centre at Luther Village. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 11:00am at St. Louis Church, Waterloo with Fr. Bernie Hayes presiding. Reception to follow at Westmount Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association of Ontario or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
