Dear Carl, Bruce, Douglas and Derek,
I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing after struggling with cancer.
I remember the years when we were neighbours and friends. Our mothers' morning coffee together was a part of the daily ritual - in those days it was Nescafe and condensed milk (nothing but the best!). For us kids, probably the most fun were the weekly trips to Kempville Provincial park for summer swimming lessons.
Do you remember when Helma helped your mom establish her independence by practising driving with her? Our mother had only been driving a short time herself, but she then nudged, encouraged and lobbied your mom to take that big step.
I will always remember that Ida's friendship with my mother Helma never waivered even when they had not seen each other for some years. They were both so happy to reconnect in their retirement years. They simply picked up where they had left off. Theirs was a very true and abiding friendship. Now they will continue that friendship in their new life, without pain or sorrow.
May you support each other in your time of grieving, and then may you be able to put all sadness aside and remember the good memories. She had a strong will and a very generous heart, and she was always so proud of "her boys".
With sincere sympathy,
Beata Kroll Myhill
