Our deepest condolences to Linda, Danya and family. Bruce will be sadly missed. He was a genuine great cottage neighbor to have on the lake. It will be impossible to go to Snakebite without thinking of him. I believe that his spirit, like my father's will live on forever at Lake Kindogan. R.I.P. Bruce.
Love,
J.M. & Kim.

My deepest condolences to Bruce’s family and friends. I had the opportunity to meet Bruce at R.O.O.F., first as a placement student and then several years of volunteering and supervising there. He was a wonderful mentor and had a way of really connecting with the youth that is hard to describe. I feel blessed that I had the opportunity to have met, learned from and worked with Bruce. He was a good man and will be deeply missed by so many.

I want to start by saying I'm sorry very sorry for your loss. Bruce was a great friend and mentor also my guidance counselor and very good friend. For as long as I can remember. I've known Bruce since I was 13 years old.He was a great man I remember so many great times.
We shared a wonderful cat together name Buzz. I first got buzzed when I was living on the streets and used to come to the Youth Shelter . Bruce offered to take buzz home and untill i was able to care for her . A little while after that Bruce pulled me aside and told me that his daughter fell in love Buzz and asked if Buzz could become a permanent part of his home. I was more than flattered and happy that to have left Buzz such a great person... Chris is also the ones who have nicknamed me Swan like The Swan Princess. Cuz I ran away at one point and told people my name is Dawn when my name is really Sin. so he put both of names together and he always said I was a little princess ilI miss you . I hope you're happy Wherever You Are.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Bruce many years ago when ROOF was on Weber St. He met with me when I was interested in volunteering and from then spent several years at ROOF. He had a passion for all of the youth who came through the doors. I learned so much from him. He will be dearly missed.

Linda,
I want to pass along our sincerest condolences to you and to all of Bruce's family. Although we have never met, I wanted to share with you how important Bruce was in our much younger lives during summers at Christie Lake. Larger than life, with a heart as big as a canoe... He held court in the boat house... Bruce helped us create amazing memories that have and will endure our lifetimes. I was so happy to reconnect in recent years through FB; I could feel his love for you and his country (on most days), his joy of travel and the outdoors, and his compassion for others. Jim and I are so sorry for your loss.

Linda,
No words can take away the heartache you are feeling, and I’m so very sorry for your loss. You shared many stories of Bruce as I tried to make sense of my own life, and I always remembered he worked at ROOF and the love you both shared for the outdoors. I had the pleasure of running into you both at Weston’s bakery with my children, and was thankful I was able to meet him then after the stories you shared during my time with you.
I’m keeping you, Dayna, his family and friends in my heart and thoughts as you prepare for the days ahead.

Linda, I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. Bruce was a wonderful person and offered so much compassion and kindness to the people he worked with. I had the pleasure of working with him many years ago when we crossed paths working with youth. I was at the start of my career and seeing his passion and motivation was inspiring and certainly played a part in the work I have continued to do for the past 18 years in our community. He taught me valuable skill sets in our time together and I always appreciated his knowledge and wisdom.
My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Sending positive healing thoughts your way. Continue to keep his spirit alive by remembering and honoring the wonderful memories you had with him as a family, as well as the amazing contributions he has made to our community.
Take good care of yourself.

First off i want to send my condolences to his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time.
I was a young quiet/shy teenage girl, in and out of minor trouble. I stumbled across Roof and at first I was scared of everyone and everything. Bruce however did not let that stay that way for long. He had a way with all of us that opened up our eyes and hearts and our brains. He quickly became someone I could trust and confide in with no judgement, only help and knowledge. I had my idea stolen and being the person Bruce was he took me around to get all of my ID back and even helped pay for it. He even went as far as taking me to Toronto head office for my birth certificate and we stayed and had lunch before we can back. That was the first time I felt like I could make it in this world and that there are good people in it that will help and send you in the right direction. Thanks to Bruce that is also the type of person I have become too :) I wear my heart on my sleeve and help anyone any chance I get even if I'm down and out. I still have the pic of the multi coloured pig statue that was all along the streets in Toronto I was fascinated by the ( first time in the big city). Thank You Bruce for your Time with all of us, you will be missed! Lots of Love and Respect <3 Sabrina

Bruce Milne was one of the very few cis-men that I ever trusted in my lifetime. I had the opportunity of working with him at Reaching Our Outdoor Friends (ROOF) from 2001-2005. He was greatly admired and respected by the youth and inspired his staff. He hired me for a street-outreach position and helped to propel me into my career.
He was a good man, a complex man, a great storyteller, with a big heart. I saw his eyes fill up with tears so many times while speaking passionately about social justice.
He will be greatly missed.
My condolences to the family.
