Obituary of Kathleen Lois Crofoot
Lois was called home to be with her Lord Jesus unexpectedly, in her 88th year on December 30, 2017. Loving and devoted wife to the late Bob Crofoot, dearly loved mother of Bruce (Alice) Crofoot, Ken (Jan) Crofoot and Linda (Chris) Pernfuss. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Alvin and Julia, Lisa and Jeffrey, and Benjamin and Lucas.
Lois was born and raised in Simcoe where she met Bob and later they both earned degrees at McMaster University. She lived a life of service to others while pursuing her many interests. She served as President of the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec in the late 70's and later dedicated herself to volunteer on the Board of McMaster Divinity College, ultimately earning an honorary doctorate. Singing was a passion for Lois. She sang in local and church choirs, including the Kitchener Bach Choir. Lois had an extremely strong faith. She was a loyal member of Highland Baptist Church. Her involvement at Highland in the Choir, on various committees, and her 'small group' was very significant in her life. Her relationships with Highland friends meant the world to her.
Lois was an avid golfer at Galt Country Club and, again, it was the close friendships she made there that were far more important than the golf she played. In fact, from the many places that Lois and Bob lived it was always extremely important to her to maintain their friendships no matter how far away or how long ago. Despite all her varied interests and involvements, her greatest pride was always her family. She followed the exploits and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren with passion and joy.
Lois is now in the arms of God, a moment she waited for with readiness and anticipation, though far too soon for the rest of us. She will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew her.
