Obituary of Derek Andrew Philip Armbruster
With gratitude to the Lord for peacefully ending his pain, the family of Derek Armbruster are saddened to announce his passing on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital after a three-month battle with cancer.
Derek was born October 16, 1960, to Doreen and Del Armbruster and was predeceased by his father on November 10, 2017. Left to mourn him are his mother, Doreen, brother Mark (Patti), sister Lisa (Sean Montgomery) and his much-loved nephews and nieces, Jason and Brett Montgomery and Rachel, Megan and Sarah Armbruster.
Derek spent a good portion of his younger years travelling North America looking for adventure, finally settling back home in Kitchener in 1992. Owner of a canteen truck, he was proud of the Elmira route he had built up over the years and he enjoyed meeting new people through this venture.
Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Derek with his family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, January 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, at
