I remember Professor Soulis very well from my undergrad days in Systems Design Engineering. My father, a local businessman, worked with George and others on the Expo 67 project. That's how I found out about this new program and became one of the few female engineering students at UW in 1971. I always felt supported by the professors in Systems Design, even though as the second graduating class, we were all still trying to figure out where the courses would take us. Looking at the quality of graduates and their accomplishments, Professor Soulis and his colleagues laid an excellent foundation.
