Obituary of Mary Louise Graff

Passed away peacefully in her sleep, on February, 26th, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, in her 88th year.

Predeceased by her parents, Otto and Margaret Vogelsang, whom she cherished, devoted husband Donald Wesley Graff and beloved sister, Alice Ott.

Survived by her children; Dawn and her husband Gerry Winsor of Ottawa, John Graff of Kitchener, as well as Lori and her husband Greg Barnes, of Aurora, Ontario.

Mary will be missed by her grandchildren; Chantel, Danielle, Kelly and Crystal, her great grandchildren; Yannick, Lexi, Hannah, Griffin, Kolton and Hudson (all from the Ottawa area), as well as her granddaughters, Kate and Erica (from Aurora).

Mary loved her family and was also very proud of her heritage. Her grandfather, Emil Vogelsang, was the founder of the first button factory in Berlin (now known as Kitchener) and her father, Otto, was an Alderman. She was a successful career woman who taught at Conestoga College for many years. Mary cared deeply about her students and enjoyed life-long friendships with colleagues. With her husband, Don, she enjoyed baseball, card games and his special rose garden. Befitting her name, Mary loved birds, music, flowers and her church.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Mary at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, March 2nd, 2018. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with refreshments to follow. (No visitation prior).
