Obituary of Rita Ann Guenther

Rita passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care in Kitchener on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in her 96^th year.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Roach (1976) and Hank Guenther (2003).  Loving mother of Rosemary and Herb Smythe, Charlotte Lawson, Mike and Lorie Roach, Glenn and Anita Roach; grandmother of Heather (Norm), Brian (Dianna), Robin (Phil), Rhett, Chris, Mark, Ed (Erin), Becky (Dan), Kathryn, Katie (Dino), Joe (Krista), Josh (Camille), and Brendan (Jean) and 13 great-grandchildren.  Rita will be remembered by her in-laws, Lorraine Missere, Loretta Lavigne, Ferg and Marion Feeney, Raymond and Mary Catherine Smith, and members of the extended Roach and Guenther families.

Predeceased by her grandson, Paul Smythe; sons, Don Roach and Pat Roach; son-in-law, Bob Lawson; parents, Anthony and Elizabeth (Schnurr) Missere; sisters, Annette Weber, Florence (Paleczny) Loughran, Della Musclow and Helen Daub; and brother, Roy Missere.

Rita was a longtime member of the St. Louis RC Church CWL, the Knights of Columbus Seniors Group, and the St. Louis choir.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Rita with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Phil Reilly officiating.  Cremation will follow with a private family interment at a later date.  A reception will immediately follow the mass in the funeral home’s Fireside Room.
