I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Gowing passing away. We were next door neighbours of the Gowing family for many years. I never really appreciated how much Mr. Gowing did for the boys in the neighbourhood when we were kids. We always had a rink to skate on thanks to a lot of hours spent by Mr. Gowing on many cold nights. I have many fond memories of good times spent with his family.

My sincere condolences to the Gowing family. As a student of KCI he was Mr. Gowing to me; and I fondly remember him as one of the best teachers there....funny, patient, fair, kind and he made his classes thoroughly enjoyable. He also bravely took on the role as chaperone in 1980 when he accompanied our Grade 12 trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco in California. He never made us feel we were being chaperoned; and I'm sure we caused him several moments of worry during that week.
