Obituary of Sandra Catherine Streit

It is with great sorrow that the family of Sandy announces her sudden passing due to a pulmonary embolism, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 65.

Dear mother of Jeff (Crissy), and Tim. Loving grandmother of Dylan and Preslee. Cherished sister of Linda (Brian) Greer. Will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Christine (Tim) Ramseyer and their children Alyssa and Katie, Steven (Danna) Greer and their children Gabi and Gracie, and Amy (Rob) Greer Entz and their children Zoey and Kinzley , as well as Amy Doran (Dylan’s mother),  aunts and uncle Lloyd and Ida Swartzentruber, Jean Swartzentruber and Annie Roth, and many dear cousins.

Predeceased by her parents Lester and Erma Swartzentruber and a brother at birth.

Sandy’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and her sons. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kitchener. She was employed for 35-years with Sears Canada and then worked for several years with Warm Embrace Elder Care.  Over all these years she developed many long-lasting relationships and special friendships. She was a very loving & caring person and enjoyed helping people and her many friends.  She also loved reading novels, watching TV shows, and having Dylan and Preslee for sleepovers .

Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Sandra with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday July 22, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Ave., Kitchener on Monday, July 23, 2018 with visitation at 12:00 to 12:45 pm and the service to follow at 1 p.m., with Rev Nolan Astley as officiant. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall. A private family interment will be held at St. Agatha Mennonite Cemetery at a later date.
