Obituary of Judy Ann Morton
Judy passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Dear wife of Howie for 52 years and loving sister of Jack DeSadeleer and his wife Raelene. Cherished and loving mother of Heather (Scott Blackett) and Ian (Tammy Gaudreau); she will be dearly missed by her four grandchildren: Theo, Max and Tilly Blackett and Thyra Morton. She is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Judy grew up in the Ottawa Valley and chose to raise her family in Huron County before moving to Kitchener to be closer to her grandchildren. A graduate of Western University, she holds both an Associate of Music in Piano Performance Diploma and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction. She was a long-time piano and kindergarten teacher and is remembered for her patience and loving philosophy which she brought to all aspects of teaching. She was also an eager piano accompanist for many choirs including the Blyth Festival Singers and the Fireside Singers. She was an avid gardener and a recently retired Chair of the Volunteer Committee for the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. Judy and Howie filled their retirement with travel to Australia and Europe and spent recent winters in Venice, Florida where they had many close friends and golf companions. But Judy’s favourite thing was spending time with family and her last months were filled with many such occasions, sharing laughs, wine and music. She will be terribly missed but her unwavering positivity and love is a continued inspiration for those who knew her.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Judy with her family during the memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 1 – 3 p.m. Funeral will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
