Obituary of Dorothy Elsie Pollice

(nee Jackson)

 

Dorothy passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care in Kitchener, on Saturday, December 8, 2018, in her 92nd year.

 

Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was born in Hamilton in 1927 and, prior to marriage, worked at Fearman’s Meat Packers in Hamilton.  Dorothy married Dominic Pollice in 1946 and moved to Waterloo in 1958 where she became a member of the CWL at St. Agnes RC Parish and a volunteer canvasser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  She enjoyed her many trips with family to Alaska, the West coast, the East coast, Florida, Italy, and Stanton House on Sparrow Lake.  Dorothy loved having morning tea with her neighbours.

 

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, Dominic Pollice who passed away on May 26, 2018.  Loving mother of Patricia Anne Brown (Arnold Lawrence), Marianne Corradetti (Terry Bradley), Michael Pollice (predeceased in 2017) and his surviving wife Sandra Pollice, John Pollice (Lori), and Lisa Stecko (Michael Brodrecht).  Loving Nana to Tara Brown (David Woods), Tanya Brown Ross (Peter Ross), James Brown (Joan Lee), Paul Brown (predeceased) and his surviving wife Bev, Phillip Brown (Monica), Gina Corradetti, John Corradetti (Cherisse), Sarah Pollice (Michael Grant), Jennifer Shantz (Brian), Ryan Pollice (Kaitlin), Courtney Pollice (Steve Kuntz), Jessica Pollice (Evan), Tara Gutscher (Kevin), Kris Brodrecht (Mallory Caudron) and Great-Nana of Charlotte, Olivia, Adeline, Hudson, Elliott, Brooke, Tyler, Landon, Lily, Dominic, Michaela, Evelyn, Grace, Zachary, Alex, Sommar, Drury, Ashley, Emily and James.

 

Predeceased by parents Harry Jackson and Hilda Brown, siblings Margaret Vickers, Stanley Jackson, Gladys England and Edna Curliss.

 

Special thanks to the staff of Lanark Heights LTC who showed love and compassion to aid our mother and family through this difficult period.

 

The Pollice family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.  The funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 10:30 a.m.  A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home’s Fireside Room.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Burlington will follow the reception.
